ANXIETY



The anxiety is the condition in which one may feel extremely worried and nervous. The anxiety attacks are so strong that they can trigger fear and affect daily activities. These can also disturbs sleep and working

 


condition. 


CNS stimulating agent such as caffeine, smoking and alcohol can increases the risk of anxiety attacks. If these is being not treated these can lead to severe attacks and symptoms may get worse. Anxiety is a feeling of uneasiness and worry, usually generalized and unfocused as an overreaction to the situation that is only subjectively seen as menacing. Anxiety involves expectation of future threat.





In anxiety person may feel like FLIGHT OR FIGHT , defensive behavior or escape. David Barlow defines anxiety as"a future oriented mood state in which one is not ready or prepared to attempt to cope with upcoming negative event".





 

 



 Symptoms: 

Anxiety can be experienced with long, drawn-out daily symptoms that reduces quality of life, known as chronic or generalized anxiety.These can also experienced with short period of duration such as panic attacks known as acute anxiety. Anxiety may cause psychological and psychiatric symptoms. 

Neurological: Headache, paresthesias, fasciculation, vertigo or presyncope
Digestive: nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, dry mouth or bolus
Respiratory: shortness of breath 
Cardiac: palpitation, tachycardia or chest pain. 
Muscular: fatigue, tremors or tetany.
